I also keep having these big goals, that I never fallow through with. I have read about successful people, and the way they make their big dreams come true, they figure out what they want, write it down, have a time limit, write down steps to get there, and follow through. You can not just announce what you want and expect it to happen. Write down your goals, read it often, and do what you need to, to make it real.
I want to make 100K a year in 5 years. I want to get my bachelor's degree in business. I want to finish my Wicca training and celebrate the holidays. I want to weight 150lbs in 2 years. I want to live in Australia in 5 years. I want to have my own business. I want to study natural healing in 5 years. Now! I have to write them down on a paper with a time line and put that on the wall where I can see it. I have to figure out what I have to do to make those things happen. I have to figure out a schedule and stick to it.

No schedule for eating, exercise, studying.
Short term goals to get healthier: little changes make a big difference. Stretch every day. Park farther from the door. Eat 6 small meals a day. I will reevaluate these goals as they become easier and after I have stuck to them for 2 weeks straight.
Short term goals for self esteem. Validate myself, more. Take pride in the things I do right. Read the self esteem book I bought for myself. Take pride in everything around me and be thankful for what I have.
Short term goals for 100K. Finish one Loma (different study courses that are available through work) course every two week. Really work on meeting my work targets. Do 3 needs assessments a day.
Short term goals for degree: Make follow up calls tomorrow morning to direct loans, to the education direct, and to the Colorado tech. Find out what courses I will be taking in April.
Short term goals for Wicca training. Organize my Wicca books and information I have gathered. Re-write information I would like to keep and read at least one Wiccan book by the end of this month.
That is a lot of reading, but I spend way to much time on facebook and in front of the tv. If I used that time to improve my situation, I would be way ahead of the game. Everyday I have to do at least something to organize my apartment. Cluttered space = cluttered mind. its hard to think, or be optimistic about the future when everything is a jumbled mess.
Goal for today: clean house, read book, do laundry, make and pin up time line, and make schedule.

It sounds to me like you are off and running. I found MFP was helpful in my acknowledging what I put in my body and my activity level. The people in there have been a great support too. I feel bad that I don't always track my foods and exercise, but I am much more mindful of what I do if I do or do not log it.
